Description Circle of Roman roof tile standing on edge, about size of a cart wheel, found in 1958. Burial or industrial? May be linked to TL82-033, 8671 where Campen is reported to have found traces of a substantial Roman building. Many broken tegulae reported from the field. <1> According to OS report, 1976, no significant features visible on the surface, which is under plough. According to Mr Bennett, who confirmed the siting, no conclusion as to the purpose of the tile circle was made. The site, lying just below the topsoil, is now probably destroyed by ploughing. <2> in <1> Site Assessment = Probably destroyed by ploughing, according to OS 1976. <1>
