Nave built first half of the 13th century, north aisle added in 1330, west tower built late in 14th century, chancel rebuilt in early 15th. Church was restored in 19th century. Features and fittings: 14th and 15th century windows, completely restored lancet window in nave south wall;14th century south and north doorways; 15th century timbers in chancel roof; nave roof is 15th century, with king posts; north aisle roof is 14th century, with king posts; brasses of 1471 and 1521; late 13th century font; 14th and late 15th century glass; screen of c1340; two late 14th century panels are in the vicarage (according to RCHM). <1> <2> <4> Font c1300, screen early 14th century. <3> South doorway 19th century. West doorway in tower has been extensively restored. Nave roof is early 13th century with mid 13th century crown posts. North aisle has 14th century crown post roof. Chancel roof is 15th century. Font is 13th century. Traces of wall painting in north aisle. 13th century north door reset in 14th century north doorway. <5> <6> |
